“Chaos. There’s so much chaos in this world.” I thought to myself as I learned of yet another set of terror attacks in central London today. I felt fear and sadness as I thought of the victims and their families. They had lives and they felt feelings just as everyone else does. Why did they have this happen to them? Sadness quickly turned to anger. “This is not right. How could God allow this to happen?” I cried silently. Suddenly, I heard a word, one beautiful word that changed my perspective. “Jesus.” That word reminded me that Jesus, my savior, was there, with me in that moment, and in every moment, to comfort and care for me. While there is pain and suffering in this world, and I don’t know why evil exists, there’s still hope and joy to cling to. Christ’s love has overcome satan’s pitiful attempts to destroy him.
We can find peace in knowing that Jesus, the only way to heaven (Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6) is here to stay- True love and strength is here to stay. Evil will never will the battle against Jesus.

So, tonight, I encourage you to pray, and let God comfort you. Also, look for the good in this world; the kindness and compassion. As Mr. Fred Rogers once said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers — so many caring people in this world.”

I’ll end this post by letting you know one more thing. You are loved by Jesus, and by me- even though I don’t even know what you look like, I know that God created you with a purpose. So, just know that you are loved.

(Also, if anyone needs someone to talk to, I am here. Email me:, or leave a comment, whatever you need to do. )

God Bless,

– Jasmine
